Drinks & Thinks- FAULT LINES |The Kansas Mirror, Vol II: The Marion County Record

Wednesday, November 18th | 7-8:30pm

The 2023 police raid on the Marion County Record proved to be not only a harbinger of mounting attacks on First Amendment freedoms nationwide, but a microcosm of the deep and often complex divisions tearing at America's social fabric.

The Kansas Mirror Vol. II is a collaboration between photographer and 2026 Guggenheim Fellow Jeremiah Ariaz, journalist and Marion native Tim Schuler, and graphic designer Derek Hamm. The broadside publication accompanies the exhibition “Fault Lines” currently on display at the Volland Foundation.

Together, they will discuss the project and the community in the aftermath of the incident that drew international attention.
